Although most people would agree that it would be nice to get married before having kids, this is not often to be the case. More and more singles are raising children by themselves and I have to ask, I wonder what their dating life is like. Definitely it would be harder because most parents would want to put their kids' first and want to date people who not only like them, but also their kids. My mom (who is a single mom) always says that if I hate him, it would be very difficult to get the two of them to the altar. Many men would not date a girl with kids, thinking that she's a floozy and what not. Would you? Would you date a person with kids, knowing full well if you two got married that you're going to have built-in children?

While I'm not in the situation to have my own experience to answer this, my best friend is. She's nineteen and has an almost four month old daughter. She did get married to the father, but like many couples who married because of pregnancy, is now divorced. She isn't really looking to date right now because her main focus is her baby, but she's had quite a few guys back down from hitting on her when they found out she's a mother. But some of them didn't seem to mind. Her opinion is that if someone backs away because of her daughter, they weren't worth her time anyway. So yeah, having children makes dating harder, but it's definitely still possible if you find the right people.
