I grew up in a Jamaican Family and I guess the best euphemism for how Jamaicans, especially older ones, feel about homosexuals is that we are not exactly "gay-friendly." In fact, TIME magazine called Jamaica "The Most Homophobic Place on Earth."
Ouch.
So it was no surprise when my cousin came out of the closet, that he was shown the door. Combined with yelling, screaming, cursing, police and beatings it was pretty mild than what I thought would have happened:
Are you serious??? They killed your cousin for being gay??? That is HORRIBLE!
If he was my kid and they killed him for being gay, I would get revenge and go out in a blazing flame of glory taking at least 20 people with me. Wow!
